The Brazilians came off with a 2-0 win away in the first leg of their quarter-final bout with Petro as second-half goals from Marcelo Allende and Thapelo Maseko set up a two-goal advantage heading into the return leg.<\/p>\n

It was a match which could have ended differently had the Angolans taken their chances.<\/p>\n

In the return leg, Petro couldn't break down a ten-man Sundowns who had Mothobi Mvala sent off with just three minutes into the match, but Mokwena's team held on to record a goalless draw and advanced 2-0 on aggregate into the semis.<\/p>\n

Al Ahly<\/h3>\n

On the other hand, African football giants Al Ahly advanced to the semi-finals of this competition on the away goals rule.<\/p>\n

Marcel Koller's men earned a deserved 2-2 draw away at Simba SC with Reda Slim and Kahraba scoring for the reigning Champions League holders in the first leg.<\/p>\n

In the return leg, Kahraba netted again to draw level 13 minutes from time after Simba had gone ahead from Sadio Kanoute's goal in the 69th minute.<\/p>\n

Al Ahly qualified for the semi-finals on the away goals with a 3-3 aggregate score.<\/p>\n

Sundowns have a traditional 3-4-3 formation which has worked so well for the team this season.<\/p>\n

Mokwena will be unbothered by the red card Mvala suffered against Petro last time out as Grant Kekana is expected to fill in the right-back position. The rest of the team are good to go except for Peter Shalulile who still has concerns with match fitness.<\/p>\n

Al Ahly, meanwhile, are expected to carry on with the team's 4-3-3 formation which they employed in their last away fixture against Simba SC.<\/p>\n
